Like previous years, again the Fonasa, altogether with Corporación del Trasplante, organized a Campaign of promotion of the donation of organs to make it during the Week of the Donor. This year 2006, due to the intense mobilizations of the sector health at national level, the official Launching of the Campaign had to be postponed for end of October, thus it is like taking advantage of that the 2004 WHO /OPS created to 26 of October like the World-wide Day of the Donation of Organs and Transplants, it was chosen this date for the official Launching, thus were official activities in regions, emphasizing the work of Iquique and Antofagasta and stands in the hospitals Sótero del Río and Barros Luco of the capital, in addition to which each center of Transplants altogether with the offices of the Fonasa obtained.

In this opportunity, the graphical pieces take the image of González – Cifuentes's family, whom donated the organs of their older son, Gabriel of 13 years, in 1999. They represent the real sense of the donation: To talk it in Family, this beautiful familiy had talked on the subject before the accident of Gabrielito, reason why when appearing the situation, did not doubt in respecting the decision showed by their small son and all the family. We are thankful deeply and sincerely, the delivery, generosity, disposition and strength of spirit of this family, authorizing that their image were the central graphical piece of this Campaign. They are the clearest example of talking in family and, respecting the wills of the others, we can give hope to the thousands of Chileans who wait by a generous gesture to save their lives.
